Arsenal consider Turan move in January after Barca deem midfielder surplus

The midfielder has struggled for regular first-team football at the Nou Camp since his move from Atletico Madrid in July 2015 and he is yet to make an appearance this season. Turan has not played a single minute of the 11 matches played so far this campaign, and the 30-year-old will be offered to potential suitors when the transfer window opens in the new year. The Turkey international earned his 100th cap for his country in the 3-0 defeat by Iceland last week, and although his Barcelona contract expires 2020, he might leave to get minutes elsewhere.

CNN in Turkey report that Arsenal have contacted the player's representatives to learn of his intentions. Turan's former club Galatasaray are also keen to bring him back to Turkey. Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has overlooked the midfielder in favour of new signing Paulinho, Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez alongside the mainstays Sergi Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta.
